Who are we?
We are volunteers helping Ukrainian citizens in our area under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme.
We provide:
A “Matching Service” – Finding the best solutions. Ukrainians contact us to help in identifying a local family who have registered under the scheme and are looking to find a “match” according to the number of rooms available and the maximum numbers they can facilitate at their property.
Organiser of Events
Ensuring Ukrainians get help and support. We organize local events to bring together families for social support. For example:
Weekly/Monthly meetings to help Ukrainian families:
- Weekly English Language Lessons and “Speaking Club”
- Monthly Social Meetings and Weekly “Drop In” Sessions
- Finding a Job via our Job Club
- Facilitating a local counselling and advice service
- Finding accommodation for Ukrainians to move on into their own rented property
- Furniture and white goods collection service to provide free to Ukrainians moving into their own rented properties
Interpreter Service
We have a team of interpreters speaking both Ukrainian and Russian. This allows us to match and explain more quickly to Ukrainians families. At events our interpreters will provide a simultaneous translation service as required.
